Poids léger. Le revers est très proche de certains grands bronzes de Marseille au taureau chargeant. Au droit le plectron était un petit grattoir (mediator) réalisé à partir d’un coquillage qui servait à gratter ou à pincer les cordes de la lyre.

Agathokles, tyranus of Syracuse
Agathokles had seized power in Syracuse in 317 BC and assumed the title of king in 305 BC. In 310 the tyrant invaded North Africa and attacked Carthage, but he was defeated in 307 and must retire to Sicily. Peace, signed the following year with the hereditary enemy, consecrates the hegemony of Agathokles over all Sicily.
