Fondé en 1810 le jardin botanique est avec la Bibliothèque Nationale et universitaire la plus ancienne institution culturelle et scientifique de Slovénie. Il abrite plus de 4.500 espèces végétales différentes dont plus d’un tiers sont des espèces régionales.

Founded in 1810, the Botanical Garden is, along with the National and University Library, the oldest cultural and scientific institution in Slovenia.
