Ce thaler est frappé sur un flan très large et régulier laissant apparaître l’essentiel des grènetis extérieurs. Petite paille au droit comme au revers résultant de l’opération de laminage du flan. Le revers a été frappé avec un carré présentant une cassure en haut à droite du lis. Exemplaire recouvert d’une légère patine grise

CITY OF STRASBOURG
Strasbourg, at the end of the 15th and the beginning of the 16th century, played a great economic, intellectual and artistic role. The cathedral, whose construction began in 1277, was completed at the end of the 15th century. Gutenberg, the inventor of the printing press, resided in Strasbourg from 1438 to 1447. The house of the Oeuvre Notre-Dame and the Kammerzell house were erected at this time. Strasbourg will find itself embroiled in the Wars of Religion which will devastate Alsace for more than a hundred years.
