The railway from Paris to Saint-Germain, inaugurated on August 24, 1837, is at the origin of the western railway network since the law of July 9, 1835. One of the locomotives used is a Seguin, model 1829 , the first French smoke tube locomotive. The Western Railway Company was liquidated in 1909 to form part of the state network.
