Ce type était complètement inédit et non répertorié avant la publication de l'ouvrage de L.-P. Delestrée et M. Tache. Même coin de droit que l'exemplaire illustré dans le "Nouvel atlas" (pl. XX, n° 466). Ce type présente une synthèse typologique entre les deniers en argent des Bellovaques (LT. 7241), les bronzes aux animaux affrontés des Aulerques Éburovices (LT. 8529) et les bronzes aux sangliers affrontés des Ambiens (LT. 8518-8522).
This type was completely new and unlisted before the publication of the work by L.-P. Delestrée and M. Tache. Same obverse die as the example illustrated in the \\\"New Atlas\\\" (pl. XX, no. 466). This type presents a typological synthesis between the silver denarii of the Bellovaci (LT. 7241), the bronzes with confronted animals of the Aulerci Eburovices (LT. 8529) and the bronzes with confronted wild boars of the Ambiens (LT. 8518-8522)

AMBIANI (Area of Amiens)
(2nd - 1st century BC)
Their name, "those who are on both sides of the river", indicates that the Ambiens, people of Belgian Gaul, occupied both banks of the Somme (Samara). Their territory corresponds to the current department of the Somme. Their neighbors were the Calètes, the Morins, the Atrébates, the Bellovaques. Their main oppidum was Samarobriva (near Amiens). They participated in the coalition of the Belgian peoples in 57 BC and provided a contingent of ten thousand men. In 52 BC, it was a contingent of five thousand men that they gave for the relief army dedicated to clearing Alesia. Caesar (BG. II, 4, 15; VII, 75; VIII, 7). Strabo (G. IV, 5). Kruta: 68, 110, 366.
