Benito JUAREZ fut Président du Mexique de 1858 à sa mort en 1872. Entre 1816 et 1823, les grandes loges de Louisiane, de New York et de Pennsylvanie créèrent des ateliers à Véra Cruz, à Campèche, à Alvarado et à Mexico. Ces loges américaines fondèrent en 1824 leur propre grande loge. C’est dans la loge Esperanza de la Virtud, que fut initié en 1833, le plus célèbre des Mexicains, Benito Juarez, qui joua un rôle politique considérable. L’ordre maçonnique, qui compta de nombreux Présidents de la République, s’est fait remarquer par son dynamisme progressiste. Des mesures prisent en faveur de

Between 1816 and 1823, the Grand Lodges of Louisiana, New York, and Pennsylvania established workshops in Vera Cruz, Campeche, Alvarado, and Mexico City. These American lodges founded their own Grand Lodge in 1824. It was in the Esperanza de la Virtud lodge that the most famous Mexican, Benito Juarez, was initiated in 1833 and played a significant political role. The Masonic order, which included many Presidents of the Republic, was noted for its progressive dynamism. Measures were taken to help the poor peasantry and defend public liberties.
