Ce jeton pose plusieurs problèmes.
Tout d’abord, il s’agit d’un moulage et pas d’une frappe, ce qui explique son prix. Son poids est élevé pour un jeton de cette époque, pourtant l’axe est bon. Le moulage a certainement été fait sur un original, peut-être très peu de temps après. C’est la première fois que nous proposons cette référence.
Mais surtout le K central est contradictoire avec la chronologie royale. En 1559, nous sommes soit sous Henri II jusqu’au 10 juillet, soit sous François II jusqu’à la fin de l’année : certainement pas sous un Charles (K). Ce jeton serait-il en réalité de 1561, donc de Charles IX, en réutilisant sans modifier la date le coin de 1559 ? On connaît en tous cas des jetons de 1559 tant pour Henri II que pour François II.
