Cette drachme de la Série VII “Types variés” est classée en type au nez busqué. Elle est effectivement assez proche de la drachme Savès n° 79 (vendue dans MONNAIES XXIII, n°763) mais elle a surtout la particularité d’avoir le visage biffé par une ligne en relief et un crâne semblable une tête chauve.
This drachma from Series VII “Various Types” is classified as a hooked-nose type. It is indeed quite close to the Savès drachma no. 79 (sold in COINS XXIII, no. 763) but it has the particularity of having the face crossed out by a raised line and a skull similar to a bald head.

GALLIA - SOUTH-WESTERN GAUL - TOLOSATES (Area of Vieille-Toulouse)
(2nd - 1st century BC)
The Tolosates, component of the Volques Tectosages, occupied the region of Tolosa (Old Toulouse). They would have been submitted after 105 BC by Quintus Servilius Cæpio. This episode would be at the origin of the myth of the gold of Toulouse "aurum Tolosanum". Tolosa, their capital was included in the province of Narbonnaise, bordering independent Gaul before the Gallic war. During the Gallic Wars, the Tolosates seem to have remained faithful to the Roman alliance. Sources: Caesar (BG. I, 10; III, 20; VII, 7); Strabo (G. IV, 14).
