LORDSHIP OF VAUVILLERS - NICOLAS II DU CHATELET
(1534-1562)
Nicolas du Châtelet was born in 1525 from the union of Érard du Châtelet and Nicole de Lenoncourt, lady of Demangevelle and sister of the cardinal bishop of Metz, Robert de Lenoncourt. He came into possession of the seigneury of Vauvillers in 1534, under the tutelage of his mother. Nicolas II died on December 19, 1562 at the battle of Dreux, against the Huguenots.
