Ce jeton est très mal décrit dans les ouvrages où il est répertorié notamment les armes écartelées dont la description est inexistante ou erronée. Les seigneurs de La Tour devinrent comtes d’Auvergne en 1389 par mariage avec Marie d’Auvergne et de Boulogne.

ARDENNES - SEDAN-BOUILLON - CHARLOTTE DE LA TOUR D'AUVERGNE
Charlotte de La Tour d'Auvergne was one of the daughters of Henri de La Tour d'Auvergne and Elisabeth de Nassau. She is therefore the granddaughter of the Taciturne and the sister of Frédéric-Maurice, Duke of Bouillon as well as Henri de La Tour d'Auvergne, Viscount of Turenne. During the captivity of Frédéric-Maurice, Charlotte "Mademoiselle de Bouillon" remained in Sedan where she had a great influence. Exiled, the former Prince of Sedan sent her his power of attorney from Rome and entrusted her with his interests in 1646. In 1647, in the name of her brother, Charlotte settled the bases of the exchange of the principality.
